We Love Linda. Based in San Rafael, Linda creates richly detailed oil paintings that bring the elegance and drama of the Old Masters into a world entirely her own. Drawing inspiration from 16th- and 17th-century Italian and Spanish painting, particularly the theatrical compositions of Caravaggio, her work pairs classical technique with unexpected subjects and a wonderful sense of curiosity. Her paintings invite a closer look, revealing layers of detail, unexpected connections, and moments of quiet humor. The result is a distinctive body of work that celebrates history, beauty, and the art of seeing the extraordinary in the unexpected.

“Mythology and memento mori, two favorite subjects that never lose their impact, as they are ingrained in culture.”
Following her studies, Linda taught at the Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina before relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she continued her artistic development under California painter Bill Martin. Her years in 1980s San Francisco brought her into an eclectic circle of artists, musicians, writers, and cultural figures, including Hunter S. Thompson, Peter Voulkos, Boz Scaggs, Sam Shepard, and John Matuszak. The creative energy and unconventional spirit of that era remain an enduring part of her artistic perspective.
