In Q.S.O.M. or Quarantine State of Mind, Orin reflects on the emotions of shelter in place during the pandemic, where stillness and intensity coexisted. An earthy palette of deep teals, reddish browns, and black grounds the work, creating a sense of calm that is layered with quiet tension. The composition holds a contained energy, as if something is building beneath the surface, mirroring the experience of isolation and introspection. Moments of balance and beauty emerge through the color, evoking the unexpected clarity and reflection that came with slowed time. At the same time, the work carries an undercurrent of unrest, shaped by uncertainty, disconnection, and a heightened awareness of societal fracture. The result is a piece that feels both meditative and charged, capturing a complex moment of pause, reckoning, and the enduring need for connection.

Growing up, art served as a refuge, helping him navigate the layered complexities of identity and belonging. Influenced early on by comic books, he discovered that creativity could be its own kind of superpower. Over time, he recognized the need to move beyond fantasy and bring his imagination to life. This realization became the foundation of his artistic practice: creating deeply personal, narrative-driven work that reflects his journey and builds authentic connections with others.
