C-lective Curator’s Cut:
Shenanigans introduces a sense of release within this series’ ongoing tension. Layers of collage, tool markings, and textured surface build a history of movement and disruption, grounded by a lingering dark wash beneath. Vibrant pinks and purples dominate, punctuated by moments of yellow that lift the composition and introduce a lighter, more playful energy. Tags of red and pink tagging remain, but here they are partially obscured, softened by darker textures that move over them. Rather than erupting outward, the rebellion begins to settle, suggesting a shift toward release and reconciliation. The work feels free, as if the intensity of earlier expression has given way to something more fluid, where humor, lightness, and the possibility of change begin to surface.

Growing up, art served as a refuge, helping him navigate the layered complexities of identity and belonging. Influenced early on by comic books, he discovered that creativity could be its own kind of superpower. Over time, he recognized the need to move beyond fantasy and bring his imagination to life. This realization became the foundation of his artistic practice: creating deeply personal, narrative-driven work that reflects his journey and builds authentic connections with others.
